Add a DreamWidget to Squarespace

What you needCode blocks that run scripts and Code Injection need a Business or Commerce plan (Core, Plus or Advanced on the newer pricing).
First, copy your code. In the DreamWidget editor, open Settings and press Copy embed code. It is one iframe and a short script; paste both.
Add a widget to a page
- Edit the pageOpen the page and press Edit, then an insert point (+) where the widget should go.
- Add a Code blockChoose "Code" from the blocks, paste your DreamWidget code and switch "Display Source" off.
- SavePress Apply, then Save. The editor may show a placeholder; the live page shows the widget.
A popup, bar or chat buttons on every page
Floating widgets do not need a spot in the layout; they load once per page and float over it.
- Open Code InjectionGo to Settings, then Advanced (Developer tools on 7.1), then Code Injection.
- Paste in the FooterPaste the code into the Footer box and save.
Worth knowing: On Squarespace 7.0 the Code block is in the same place; Code Injection is under Settings, Advanced.
Check it worked
Open the published page in a private window. The widget draws within a second; if the box is empty, see Checking it worked. Changes you publish in the editor appear on Squarespace by themselves; you never paste the code again.
