Add a DreamWidget to WordPress

What you needSelf-hosted WordPress (wordpress.org) works on any host. On WordPress.com, scripts need the Business plan or higher; lower plans show the code as text.
First, copy your code. In the DreamWidget editor, open Settings and press Copy embed code. It is one iframe and a short script; paste both.
Add a widget to a page
- Open the pageIn your dashboard go to Pages, open the page and click where the widget should go.
- Add a Custom HTML blockPress the + button, search for "Custom HTML" and add the block.
- Paste and updatePaste your DreamWidget code into the block and press Update. Preview shows the code, the live page shows the widget.
A popup, bar or chat buttons on every page
Floating widgets do not need a spot in the layout; they load once per page and float over it.
- Use a footer code pluginInstall a plugin that adds code to every page, such as WPCode, and create a new snippet set to "Site Wide Footer".
- Paste and activatePaste the code, set the snippet to active and save.
Worth knowing: The Classic editor has no blocks: switch to the Text tab and paste the code there instead.
Check it worked
Open the published page in a private window. The widget draws within a second; if the box is empty, see Checking it worked. Changes you publish in the editor appear on WordPress by themselves; you never paste the code again.
