Shopify

A logo showcase for your Shopify store, and nothing added to the theme.

The brands you carry, the press you have had, the partners you work with, in a strip that moves. It goes into a Custom Liquid section as one iframe, so it adds no app script to your theme and never counts views against you.

This is the widget. The same widget lands in your Custom Liquid section.

The marks and videos in these examples are well known ones shown as samples, so the widget is demonstrated at a realistic size. They are their owners' and imply nothing about them.

Three steps

Putting it on the page

1. Build it

Upload the logos, pick the layout, set the colors. Phone settings are separate and previewed at phone width.

2. Copy one line

The editor gives you a single iframe tag. That is the whole integration.

3. Add a Custom Liquid section

In the theme editor, Add section, Custom Liquid (or Custom HTML in older themes), paste the tag, save. It sits wherever you put the section.

The honest comparison

Against a logo app from the App Store

Apps are not bad. Most add a script to every page of the theme, and meter views by plan.

What a theme app costs you

A script in your theme on every page, whether or not the page shows logos. A monthly view allowance that stops the widget on the busy day. An app that can edit your theme code and leaves pieces behind when removed.

What this costs you

One iframe on the page that shows it. It loads after your content, from a CDN, in its own frame, so it cannot block your page from rendering and cannot reach into your site. Nothing to update. Views are never counted or capped on any plan.

The trade is that the widget lives on our servers rather than yours, and it needs a network connection to appear.

Where it goes

Places it fits

Home page

Under the hero or above the footer, where 'as seen in' and 'brands we carry' strips usually live.

Product pages

A Custom Liquid block inside the product template, for the brands behind a product.

About page

Partners and press, in a strip that moves rather than a static row of grey logos.

Any theme

Dawn, Sense, Craft, every Online Store 2.0 theme has Custom Liquid. Older themes have Custom HTML.

Shopify app, soon

A DreamWidget app for the Shopify App Store is being built. Until then the section is the same widget.

Wix, Squarespace, WordPress too

One widget can be on every site you run.

Questions

Asked often

Can I add a logo showcase to Shopify without an app?

Yes. Paste one iframe tag into a Custom Liquid section in the theme editor. Nothing installs in the theme and nothing runs on pages that do not show it.

Will it slow my store?

It loads in its own frame after your content, from a CDN, about 27KB. It cannot block your page from rendering and adds no script to your theme. Core Web Vitals are unaffected.

Does it work with Dawn and other Online Store 2.0 themes?

Yes. Every Online Store 2.0 theme has a Custom Liquid section and block. Older themes have Custom HTML, which takes the same tag.

Is there a view limit?

No, on any plan including the free one. The widget is served from a CDN where views cost us nothing, so we do not meter them the way most widget services do.

What if I change it later?

Edit the widget in the DreamWidget editor and every page showing it updates. The embed points at the widget rather than carrying a copy, so the page is never touched again.

Does it work on phones?

Every design setting is kept separately for desktop, tablet and phone and previewed at that width, so the phone version is something you set, not something that happens to you.
